Howdy everyone! Drew here from the Envato Podcast, Support, & Community team. I’d like to take a second today to make an important personal and public announcement to both you, the Envato community, and to the staff at Envato.
At the beginning of this month, I formally tendered my resignation and have accepted an offer to come and help run things over at CopterLabs. More on that in a bit.
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of getting to know many of you over the years that I’ve been with Envato. Many of you know me on a personal basis and know I’m just an email or tweet away if you ever have a question. In addition, the staff at Envato have always treated me with the utmost respect and kindness, and they have been an absolute pleasure to work with. It is for those reasons that making this decision has been incredibly difficult for me.
The community we have here at Envato is something special, and it is something that Envato and myself should always be very thankful for. I certainly am thankful. Never one to hold back opinions, but always there to offer a helping hand, you are all a testament to how wonderful online communities can be with the right people. The talent and potential of this community never ceases to amaze me, and I have no doubts that the successes achieved by many of you will continue long into the future.
To Collis, my support and community teammates, and all of my dear friends and coworkers at Envato, thank you so much. You’ve been an absolute joy to work with and have taught me so many things along the way.
As I mentioned, I’m headed to CopterLabs to work with long time friend and industry expert, Jason Lengstorf and crew. Coincidentally, Jason has contributed and has been involved with the Envato community for some time. CopterLabs focuses on building custom sites and softwares for businesses and self-starters, and I’m really excited to jump in and get started on a lot of fun projects!
If you’d like to keep in touch with me (I hope you do!), you can catch me on my blog or on .
Lastly, I’ve specifically chosen to title this post without the phrase “goodbye”. Though I am heading off to new and exciting adventures, I will be staying on as a community mod and will still be checking in and interacting with all of you when time allows. You thought you got rid of me that easily? 😉
I could go on and on about the greatness of the community and each and every one of you, but we’ll consider the brevity a last parting gift from me to you.
Thanks again. It’s been a pleasure. 🙂
