Note: This post hasn't been updated in over 2 years.
With a new month upon us, I’m pleased to announce March’s Community Superstar winner. He’s been an AudioJungle rockstar since 2011 and has already made a big impact on our Marketplace Forums. A huge congratulation goes out to PhilLarson!
Who is PhilLarson?
While Phil has only been a forum member for a little over four months now, he’s left a big impression with his friendly and helpful attitude.
Phil hails from the United States and has been writing great music for over 10 years. We’ll let you listen to some of my favorites in a just a bit.
This time around, instead of making up nonsense about our winner, I thought I may as well ask Phil for a little write up about himself. This is what he had to say:
Phil is married to his beautiful bride, Kylee, and they have a little buddle of joy: Hashbrown, a beagle mix. He is the son of Lloyd Larson, a relatively known choral and piano composer in the church music realm, and the brother of redhead actor, Jeff Larson, in the State Farm commercial, “Casual Wednesdays” with Gary Cole, known for his role as the boss in the 1999 hit movie, “Office Space.”
Phil can mostly be found behind the drumset playing anything from show choir to jazz gigs to church worship to rock concerts. At the heart, though, Phil is a rocker. AudioJungle has broaden his horizons as he has enjoyed trying to diversify his portfolio by composing music of all styles (Yes, even a country song…though he doesn’t always consider that music). Phil also enjoys writing on his blog and has 2.5 chapters of a book finished (nevermind that he hasn’t touched it in about 4 months).
Ultimately, he wants his life to be a vessel for good by reaching out to his local community through acts of service, trying to develop meaningful relationships wherever he goes, joining others in imagining better ways of doing life, and encouraging community online in the Envato Forums! Phil is extremely thankful for these marketplaces as he has a lot more time on his hands since being laid off in the latter part of 2011. If writing for AudioJungle can become a full-time career, Phil will die a very happy man.
Thanks Phil! I’d also like to add that Phil loves writing in the third person. Way to go you!
And if you’re also wondering what kind of tunes Phil throws down – here are some of my favorites:
Symphony of the Stars
Indie Grunge Anthem
Triumph of the Underdog
Along with the ultra-cool gold superstar community badge (that only lasts for 12 months!), the prize this month is a 6 month Tuts+ premium subscription, a $30 Rockable ebook voucher and a $20 marketplace credit. Congratulations PhilLarson!
