Wired.com love to dig for the truth. And when they dug into the source code of North Korea’s official government site, they found the word “envatowebdesign”. It’s true – they bought their site template from ThemeForest for just $15.
Wired explain that the discovery was made by a political science student:
Michael DiTanna, a junior at Fordham, got an assignment in his Korean history/political science course to browse North Korean official media and analyze its content. He quickly checked out the official webpage — and decided to check under the hood…
I had to present on this in class and everyone was pretty shocked.
Given that the site is being used to propogate North Korea’s socialist ideology, I’m not sure whether congratulations to ignitethemes are in order.
The real win is that ThemeForest received such “interesting” attention on Wired.com’s front page today.
